For the past three years, VisionsLive has been working with one of the hair industry’s leading brands to better understand the hair market in the DACH region (incl. Luxembourg) and by extension, the rest of Europe.

During this journey, we have not only discovered a flood of new trends and ideas but we have (in the process) redefined the market entirely. After recruiting more than 2,000 professional participants (hairdressers, barbers and stylists), both online and in-person (flying to some of Europe’s largest industry events each year), we’ve learned that the established market may only make up half of the full picture.

While the exact split is still to be defined, VisionsLive has placed itself at the very center of this industry-leading brand’s future, as we aim to provide the platform for a big, big change in how the industry is approached by illustrating clearly what the industry is and what the industry needs.

Key takeaways:

  1. How a business is only limited to the boundaries it sets itself.
  2. The importance of utilizing external tools as well as your own.
  3. How DIY can benefit you.

Nikki Baines, business development manager, VisionsLive

Nikki joined VisionsLive in 2021 and quickly became an integral cog in the everyday functioning of the company. With a wealth of experience in sales and account management, she has applied her expertise to provide the company with some of the most profitable months in its now 18-year history. Nikki’s value, however, exceeds even this, having branched out into marketing, event planning and managing the company’s internal relationships. Nikki uses her outstanding interpersonal skills to engage new audiences while helping to maintain the prosperous, family-like atmosphere within the VisionsLive office.

Spencer Wood, VisionsLive

Spencer Wood, senior international key account manager, VisionsLive

Spencer started working with VisionsLive as an intern while completing his degree in biological sciences with biomedicine at Lancaster University. Six years later (and a journey involving many job titles), Spencer now finds himself leading VisionsLive’s biggest project to date. Exposed to new challenges (none more so than managing a large panel of participants who do not speak the same language), he uses his love of music to get-in-the-zone and really focus on the next task at hand. When the headphones are on, he’s composing the next movement in this research program’s masterpiece.
